Solar PV Solutions For Hotels & Hospitality in Ireland
Resolute Group installs commercial solar PV systems for hospitality businesses across Ireland. We help hotels, restaurants, pubs and event venues cut energy costs with SEAI-certified installations backed by Ireland’s longest maintenance contract.

SEAI Grants and Tax Relief
Hospitality businesses can access grant funding of up to €162,600 through the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant, with tiered rates per kilowatt peak installed. The Accelerated Capital Allowance also lets you write off the full cost of qualifying solar PV equipment in Year 1, a material difference to cash flow. Resolute handles the full grant application and ESB connection on your behalf.
SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen
Up to €162,600 in grant funding per site for hotel, restaurant, pub and venue solar installations under the SEAI scheme. Tiered by system size.
Accelerated Capital Allowance
Claim 100% of qualifying solar PV equipment cost as a Year-1 tax deduction. Stackable with the SEAI grant.
What Solar Does for Your Hospitality Business
Hospitality is one of the most energy-intensive sectors in Ireland. Hotels run around the clock with lighting, heating, cooling and laundry. Restaurants and pubs rely on commercial kitchens, cold storage and ventilation that draw heavily through every service. Operations cannot simply be scaled back to save power. Solar lets you generate your own electricity on-site, cutting what you draw from the grid when demand and rates are highest.
Lower Overheads Per Room Night
Reduce the electricity cost of servicing each guest room, dining cover or bar session by generating your own power during peak operating hours.
Shield Against Rate Increases
Lock in a portion of your energy cost for 25+ years. Once installed, your solar system produces electricity at a fixed cost regardless of grid price changes.
Earn from Surplus Generation
Sell unused electricity back to the grid through the Clean Export Guarantee, turning your roof into an additional revenue stream during quieter trading periods.
Attract Eco-Conscious Guests
A growing number of travellers actively choose accommodation and venues with visible sustainability commitments. For hotel groups, chains and tourism-rated properties, on-site renewable energy also supports ESG reporting.
Bifacial Panels for Hospitality Roofs
Resolute installs bifacial (glass-on-glass) panels exclusively, sourced from AE Solar and Longi. They generate from both faces, capturing reflected light from roof surfaces and surrounding hard standing, for a higher annual yield per kWp than conventional single-face panels.
Bifacial construction also carries a superior fire-performance rating compared with standard glass-and-backsheet panels. That rating matters in commercial properties running kitchens, laundries and high-occupancy spaces, where building compliance is non-negotiable.

Ireland's Leading Solar Engineers

What Our Customers Say

18 Reviews
Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Going Solar from Resolute Engineering Group. As a small family home B&B with many hips, valleys and dormers on main roof and limited space around house required for car parking some imagination was required and Going Solar came up with a plan on a budget to deliver us up to 11,000 kw of power annually via an Anker solid inverter and 20kw of battery, while housing our 25 solar panels on 2 carport structures. On completion the carpark was returned to pre arrival condition and our carbon footprint was slashed by up to 11000 tones a year. On power cuts with change over switch the batteries can keep our home lite for days. Soon Anker app will be updated to automatically fill batteries from any source when Met Eireann issues a red weather warning. Resolute engineering kindly threw in a 21kw zappi 3 phase car charger when doing the install. We had some drama during install that many would have walked from but @ResoluteEngineering @goingsolar saw the project through delivering a finished product any team could be proud of. Yesterday SEAI inspectors called and said top class finish, nothing left out, an install that makes their job easy Thanks to every one who had a part to play in our install at Going Solar @ Resolute Engineering https://resolutegroup.ie/Posted on Google Tom DonagherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A big thank you to the team for a very efficient and professional install yesterday. We're delighted with our system and surprised to see that our battery charge went from 25% to 79% today with solar alone, despite the awful weather. We also really appreciate the excellent advice on the size of system to go for and the best panel arrangement; we found the consultation process to be technically far superior to the sales talk of the other solar companies we spoke to.Posted on Google Finola O'RourkeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A Real Resolute Hospitality Install
The Merry Ploughboy, Rathfarnham
Resolute designed and installed a commercial solar PV system at The Merry Ploughboy, a well-known Dublin venue. The system was engineered around the venue’s mixed-use load profile across kitchen, bar, dining and event spaces, and installed with no disruption to guest service or bookings.
Typical Hospitality Solar Returns
Figures below are modelled for two indicative system sizes using Irish commercial yield ranges (850 to 950 kWh per kWp per year) and the 2024 average business electricity rate of €0.23 per kWh. Actual performance varies with property type, occupancy and grant funding.

Frequently Asked Questions
This depends on your energy consumption, roof space and property type. We assess your specific requirements during the site survey and design a system matched to your demand.
No. Installation is scheduled around your operations and most commercial rooftop systems are completed within days. There is no need to close or reduce service during the work.
Yes. Many hospitality properties pair rooftop solar with guest EV charging, letting visitors charge while they stay or dine, partly on your own generation. Resolute designs and installs both, so the system is engineered as one.
The SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant offers up to €162,600 depending on system size, and the Accelerated Capital Allowance allows you to write off the equipment cost in Year 1. Resolute handles all applications.
In most cases, commercial rooftop solar does not require planning permission. Heritage or protected structures may need additional review. We advise on this during the site survey.
Payback depends on system size, energy usage and grant support. The modelled systems above pay back within 4 to 6 years post-grant, with savings continuing for the system’s 25+ year lifespan.
Scheduled maintenance visits, real-time performance monitoring, inverter health checks, component replacement and full support for the entire 25-year panel guarantee period.
